General Description

Plan and execute continuous improvements activities, technical support, and project support for existing DHT manufacturing lines. Design and implementation of new processes in support of new product lines. Support efforts to continuous improve processes and product quality. This role is recognized as a key manufacturing leader within the DHT organization.


  • Work with teams to identify the root cause and resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment and product design
  • Creating routings from engineered drawings and specification sheets starting from raw material through final assembly. Evaluates and optimizes standard routing times versus actual job times. Facilities updates to engineering documents for current work in process
  • Clearly understand existing processes in order to provide support for maintenance, operations, and customers
  • Utilize continuous improvement with Lean as the primary foundation of day-to-day activities
  • Drive improvement product quality by identifying manufacturing issues, developing advanced manufacturing cost-effective solutions, and overseeing successful implementation into production
  • Project Management – Coordinates projects and leads project teams to on-time delivery
  • Monitor and improve productivity through the use of continuous improvement, Lean related tools, while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality and cost-conscious manner
  • Analyze production lines and ensure the required product capacity is in place before it is required by customer demand
  • Apply principles of logical scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Interface with Programming Engineers to design safe, lean, repeatable process


  • B.S Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or ten years Manufacturing experience and a minimum of 3 years experience in lean operations/engineering

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering
  • Experience with product quality planning, creating process failure mode and effects analysis and creating process flow diagrams required
  • Experience with Kaizen, 3P and Lean Production
  • PDCA, 5S, A3 Thinking knowledge and skillset
  • An understanding of machining manufacturing processes
  • Experience developing tools and templates
  • Demonstrated experience owning production processes
  • Work with maintenance and quality teams to implement changes within the PM and Metrology processes
